About the Gallery

WHO ARE WE?

The Douglas Art Association Gallery, Inc. is an organization operated exclusively by volunteers who have a love of all things art. From our President to our dedicated Docents, we all love our community, our artists / crafts-people and the sweet satisfaction we feel by serving the people in our surrounding areas.

We are not a typical gallery in that we are Non-Profit. Meaning that any income we obtain goes back into increasing our ability to serve. None of our Board of Directors, volunteers or Docents receive pay of any kind. We occasionally grant monetary assistance to deserving local groups and artists.

We invite a new artist each month to show their collection of original art and allow them to either sell or not sell their work on our website.

We also offer some of our better art pieces for sale on our website. Please check back frequently to see what we have to offer.

HISTORY

The Gallery was established as a Non-Profit Arizona Corporation on 5 Dec 1968 and has been continuously operating as an entity ever since then, with brief periods of closure due to illness or lack of volunteers or pandemics. The covid-19 virus kept us closed for 15 months. We opened for business again on May first, 2021 with no restrictions on masking except to make it voluntary.

In the intervening 52 years as a Gallery there have been many outstanding volunteers who took up the gauntlet to remain a viable operation. Those persons are too many to name. But we express our love for them and thank them for their dedication and hard work.

Please inform your friends and acquaintances of our site and invite them to come visit.
